The Chipolopolo of Zambia have rejected the Le Méridien Hotel where the Super Eagles have also lodged ahead of their crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Saturday, October 7.

The Zambians arrived in Uyo on Wednesday, October 4 ahead of the clash against host Nigeria and headed to Davok Suites in Ewet Housing Estate in Uyo which they have arranged on their own.

The Zambia delegation arrived in Uyo on Wednesday evening from Abuja where they trained in the morning. On arrival, they headed straight to Davok Suites in Ewet Housing Estate.

They will have their first training session in Uyo on Friday before the game on Saturday.

The Chipolopolo of Zambia are not the first to arrange their own accommodation after rejecting the hotel provided by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The Cameroonians also stayed at the Davok Suites in Ewet Housing Estate after turning down the accommodation from the NFF for fear of Nigerian witchcraft and juju or any effort to jeopardise their chances of winning.

They, however, lost 4-0.

Nigeria are top of Group B of the qualifiers with 10 points and need a win against the Zambians to seal qualification.

Any point for Zambia who have seven points will take Group B to the wire.
