Murphy Ijemba: What you never Knew about popular Nigerian OAP “radio paparazzi”



Nigerian radio personality, Murphy Ijemba popularly called “radio paparazzi” is the anchor of a popular radio show on Brilla FM “The Popular Side” a show widely listened to by over a million Nigerians.

Murphy style of presentation and radio anchoring have since won him several nominations and accolades at award ceremonies in Nigeria.

Murphy Ijemba was born in Mushin area of Lagos State.

Murphy completed both his primary and secondary school education in Mushin, Lagos State.

The popular OAP had his first degree from Bayero University, Kano.

His broadcasting career started with Raypower FM in Kano under Daar Communications, where he started as a reporter.

The high profile OAP left for Brila FM after working at Raypower FM for 5 years. He is a brand ambassador for 360Bet and Zutasia.

Awards/Nominations

Murphy won the “Most Popular Radio Sportscasters” at the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards 2012 and 2013 respectively.

In 2015 Murphy won “Most Popular Radio Sportscasters” at the Nigerian Broadcaster Nite

The OAP was nominated for “Football Journalist of The Year” at the 3rd Nigerian Pitch Awards in 2016.

Murphy Ijemba once shared the story of how he sold chickens just to raise fund for his education in an interview.
